Hello and welcome back! We actually did miss you but we’re bad about keeping in touch sorry. Today we talk all about Frozen and some other things related to Disney and animated movies in general. There are SPOILERS duh, so look out.
theme song: Stephin Merritt and…
HEY EVERYBODY, this week on the Travis Bickle on the Riviera movie podcast, we celebrate the only holiday that matters by celebrating the greatest director who ever lived. Tucker Stone and I welcome special guests Morgan Jeske, Sloane Leong, James Stokoe, Brandon Graham, Marley Zarcone, John Keogh, Nina Stone, Katie Witzke, David Brothers, and Jared Lewis to talk about their favorite Carpenter films for an over 3 hour megacast, featuring 8 interviews, 20 pieces of Carpenter’s music, and other assorted shiz (there’s a short essay and a ton of links in the show notes). I went overboard on this one, but it’s Halloween, so why not?
You may not have seen this because I put it up Halloween night, but TELL THE WORLD, TELL EVERYONE, this is the greatest podcast I’ve ever worked on and you need to hear it.
Listen to the podcast or I shoot the kid.
Over at The Factual Opinion, Tucker Stone and I have the special 50th anniversary episode of Travis Bickle on the Riviera. This is a podcast about movies, but this week it is a podcast only about 80s and early 90s action movies. For the 50th ep, we did a final four style bracket of movies about people getting shot and one liners, brotherhood, unnecessary gore, wrong-minded merchandising to children. Macho violent shit that is a massive part of me and Tucker’s brains. The Tigers are playing, TO-NITE.
After that, in two weeks - All John Carpenter episode. It’s christmas.
Over at the Factual Opinion, Tucker Stone and I have the latest episode of the Travis Bickle on the Riviera movie podcast. This week we talk about Ellen Degeneres’ wardrobe choices, the season premiere of East Bound & Down, Breaking Bad for a long ass time, and talk about Peter Bogdanovich’s They All Laughed for a little bit. PLZ CHECK IT OUT.
Also, next week we’ll have our special 50th episode of the show, which is pretty cool to say, and after that we’ll be doing our annual halloween spooktacular.
To celebrate their new all-crossovers issue, three of the editors from The Devastator magazine, Geoffrey Golden, Amanda Meadows and Asterios Kokkinos, join us to talk about them this week! We get into our first crossovers, why they’re so interesting, why inter-company crossovers beat out intra-, and our absolute favorites!
Holy smokes! Can you believe it? It’s our 50th PODCAST!!! This week we were joined by Colbert Report writer and podcast virgin ROB DUBBIN! He tells us about the terrain generator he invented to get out of writing a book and his favorite twitter bots.
THEN! REVENGE expert
Jim VanBlaricumSebastian Peemuffin tells us all about how to get revenge on people, and at what temperature to serve up that particular dish!
Plus! Top of the Lake! Bob the Railway Dog! AND: IS THIS GOODBYE?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!!??!
